The Great Dragon of Earth

In a time long forgoten there was a wondering dragon. This dragon was far from the ordinary dragons you read in other story books. This dragon was a god. He searched the cosmos for a place to create a new home. It took many thousands of years before he made his new home. With his knowledge and wisdom he created a place filled with life. He created many strange and unusual animals. The plants were so beautiful and bountiful. There seemed to be no end to this paradise but once again as before the great dragon was lonely. He created this paradise but he had no one to share it with. One day he desided to use his power to create some of his own kind. Each one of his brothers would have a part of this paradiseand thus he created the elements. Fire, Water, Wind, Ice, Night and the twins Storm and Lightning. The great dragon guarded over his creations and taught them the ways of the gods. Each brother had his own special abilities and the great dragon trained them to use their powers affectively and carefully. For everything made a balance and it was up to him to uphold it. But with this came a small time of grieve fo bikering broke out between the brothers. The great dragon tried to control the brothers but by creating them and giving them his powers he was without strength for they were now equal in power and strength. Even though he had made them what they are he still had the power to destroy and create. Thus came about the name of earth. Since he could no longer control his sons he created man. He believed that maybe by creating a lesser being with intellegense to understand them that maybe all the brothers would protect and guard them and take responsibility for their actions. For many years of evolution they was once again peace. The brothers once again respected their father who was now known as earth. Man sought out the wisdom from the great dragons and their faithfullness was rewarded with their protection. Eventually, through the passage of time, man began to seek others for wisdom. They began to resent the dragons and thus enfuriating them. Man, seeing the dragons as a threat began to build weapons to kill the creators. The Great Earth dragon was so tired from all that had been done that he commanded that all of his creations, his brothers, to hide and rest till the day that they would be called back by man to once again be the guardians of the world.
